Join Our Team as a General Manager at Riverford at our Devon site! 

  • Location: Wash Farm, Buckfastleigh, Devon, TQ11 0JU 
  • Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 
  • Salary £75,000 - £85,000 per annum, depending on experience  

In this position, you will play a crucial role in our success, reporting directly to the Production Director you’ll be responsible for the strategic and day-to-day management of our Head Office Production facility.. At Riverford, you’ll have the opportunity to inspire change, support both business and personal growth, and create opportunities for development and progression. We’re not just focused on KPIs; we’re committed to developing the whole person 

  • Leadership & Development:  You will guide a team of over 220 co-owners, fostering a world-class work environment.  
  • Operational Excellence: Ensure smooth site operations, improve processes, and eliminate bottlenecks. You’ll champion our lean leadership program and embrace a continuous improvement mindset. 
  • Quality Assurance: You’ll be passionate about maintaining high standards for every item packed and dispatched.. 
  • Financial Accountability: Manage a £70 million P&L, a £6 million labour budget, and a significant capex budget.

Relocation assistance: Reimbursement of up to £8,000 support available 

Salary: £75,000-£85,000 per annum, depending on experience. 

Holidays: 33 days pro rata (including bank holidays), plus 2 extra days after 5 years.

Profit Share: Annual profit share with at least 10% of profits split equally among co-owners.

What We’re Looking For: 

  • Proven experience in a fast-paced FMCG manufacturing environment is essential 
  • Expertise with short shelf-life products and the associated challenges would be an advantage. 
  • Background in lean principles and a track record of driving improvements. 
  • P&L understanding and senior-level presentation experience. 
  • A history of developing and nurturing operational teams.
