The Centre for Evidence and Implementation (CEI) is looking for a dynamic and organised researcher keen to drive social change through better evaluation, evidence synthesis and implementation. The primary role of the Research Assistant / Senior Research Assistant is to contribute to the conduct of mixed-methods programme and system evaluation, implementation and evidence synthesis projects. Most of these projects relate to children, youth and family services, or to health, education and other social services.

The role is responsible for supporting research projects, which may include: collection of quantitative and qualitative data, data analysis, conducting literature and evidence reviews (screening, data extraction and providing summaries), and report writing. There will be other administrative and project support tasks required, such as assisting in the preparation of summaries, ethical review applications, presentations and funding proposals.

The suitable candidate will find CEI to be a highly motivational and energising environment, providing exposure to a wide range of ideas and opportunities, with a supportive culture that embraces social justice, exceptional quality standards, hard work, and fun. CEI is a learning environment committed to professional development and growth for all team members. As part of a global organisation, there may be occasions when work and meetings will be conducted outside regular business hours, and this role may involve working on projects and initiatives across CEI’s offices.

The appointment will be made at either Research Assistant or Senior Research Assistant level, depending on the level of experience and expertise of the successful candidate. The Research Assistant / Senior Research Assistant supports CEI’s projects in UK and globally through undertaking a range of research and project coordination tasks, under the direction of senior staff.

The successful candidate should have an undergraduate degree in Psychology, Social Work, Social Policy or related disciplines. Post-graduate study is also desirable. Familiarity with and proven aptitude for conducting quantitative and qualitative research, including data collection, analysis, report writing, and use of statistical analysis packages is required. Knowledge of research and evaluation methodologies and proven skills in searching for and summarising research evidence is also required.
