What will you be doing?
Twickenham Sea Cadets was recently awarded the Canada Trophy, recognising us as the best Unit in the Sea Cadets, out of more than 450. We are seeking an organised and diligent volunteer to join our Board as Charity Secretary. We are a group of trustees who have run Twickenham Sea Cadets over the past 5-10 years. We have ambitious aims, with our major priority currently being to raise over £600,000 to deliver a refurbishment of our main building. The Secretary will support the Trustees in running the Unit by taking responsibility of how we manage ourselves, our meetings, and our compliance and regulatory obligations. The Secretary is accountable to the Unit Chair. The ideal candidate will be keen to get into the detail of how we manage our affairs and our major compliance requirements. They will be willing to challenge the Trustees to improve our ways of working, and bring more structure to our processes.

What difference will you make?
The Secretary role is one of three critical roles on the Unit Management Team (UMT), alongside the Chair and Treasurer. Success for the Secretary will mean driving more efficient ways of working and processes across our operations, enabling faster decision-making and a more cohesive UMT.
