  • Organisation summary - Duffel is a fast-paced, ambitious startup transforming the travel experience for 4 billion passengers worldwide. By simplifying systems and creating new tools, Duffel is making future travel effortless.
  • Role Summary:
    • Take ownership of the Accounts Payable process, ensuring smooth operations.
    • Handle month-end processes for six entities, including bank reconciliations and general ledger transactions.
    • Conduct multi-currency bank reconciliations and prepare domestic & international payment runs.
    • Manage and reconcile company credit cards and employee expenses.
    • Contribute to the preparation of monthly management accounts, including journal entries, analysis, and reporting.
    • Maintain and review General Ledger and intercompany transactions.
    • Collaborate on projects and support internal teams with financial queries.
    • Assist with the Statutory Audit process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Role Requirements
    • A Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Accounting or Finance.
    • A recognised accounting qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA), or currently pursuing one.
    • Experience in accounts payable and month-end close process.
    • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial statements, and MS Excel.
    • Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
    • Proactive in optimizing and automating processes.
    • Good communication skills for liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Preferred experience with NetSuite and advanced data analysis formulas.

Finance at Duffel

We are a fast paced Finance team looking after all end-to-end financial activities to support the Duffel Group (6 reporting entities, across 4 regions). What we're looking for in you

Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Accounting or Finance A recognised accounting qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) or you are pursuing one Experience working within a finance team specific to accounts payable processes Proven experience in contributing to the monthly close process Strong grasp of accounting (debits/credits), business reporting and financial statements: P&L, BS & Cashflow Ability to optimize processes and you are always looking for ways to automate Excellent knowledge and experience of MS Excel, a plus would be experience in using advanced formulas to analyse data Outstanding analytical skills with a high attention to detail Agile and hands-on work ethic, you are committed to making an impact Good communication skills, both verbal and written as you will communicate with internal and external stakeholders Exposure to accounting systems, experience using NetSuite is an advantage

What you'll be doing

Ownership of Accounts Payable processes to ensure they run smoothly, including reviewing and completing various end-to-end processes such as posting of invoices, communicating with suppliers/employees, and managing the respective ledger Owning month end processes including bank reconciliations across six entities, posting general ledger transactions, balance sheet reviews and intercompany accounting Completion of several multi-currency (EUR, GBP, USD & AUD) bank reconciliations along with the preparation of domestic & international payments runs in adherence to internal approval processes Reconciliation of company credit cards and account management Review & manage employee expenses through Pleo for both reimbursable and card expenditure Support the preparation of monthly management accounts; journal entries, analysis & reporting Post, maintain & review General Ledger transactions for multiple entities Post, maintain & review intercompany transactions and eliminations Participate in building scalable finance processes to support future growth Support internal teams with queries and collaborate on projects Support the Statutory Audit process to ensure timely and accurate preparation of audit deliverables
