  • Experience: 4+ years in HRM with a passion for travel and international education.
  • Language: Must be fluent in English.

Both companies focus on showing the real side of the countries we visit, through engaging backpacking trips that aim to broaden cultural understanding amongst the next generation of global citizens. 

The Learning Adventure is a leading educational tour provider for school and university students, operating educational trips across the globe. The company focuses on offering bespoke itineraries that deliver prescribed learning outcomes and unique, engaging activities to inspire the next generation of global citizens. 

The role: 

We’re seeking someone who is an exceptional leader, strong communicator, able to plan, execute and assist with ambitious team growth strategies, build employee management systems, overcome challenges faced during rapid expansion, be a managerial face of the company for our staff and stakeholders and be highly passionate about the positive impact travel can have on young people. 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the HR team– We have an HR team in Vietnam and a team member based in the UK. Oversee the HR manager and ensure the department is meeting all global requirements. 
  • Oversee the office managers in London, China, Japan, S Korea, Mexico and Australia – All our teams are overseen by a General Manager in their region. You will work with them to ensure the HR policy and company culture is consistent across our global teams.
  • Build a culture – Through clear communications, global initiatives such as our team meet-ups and through regional initiatives planned by you and rolled out by regional general managers, you will build a company culture aligned with our core values.
  • Ensure quality: Work with managers to ensure that as we grow, our management remains consistently excellent and that employees are highly motivated, satisfied and feel appreciated.
  • Develop training: Work across the company to ensure we have top of the class management training programs and other development programs
  • Manage compensation and benefits: Take responsibility for the company’s payroll system, appraisals and benefit packages
  • Oversee projects: Take on key projects such as managing our global meet up 
  • Build policies & Systems: Prepare the company for a transition from a medium to a large sized organization, ensuring our tech solutions for team management as well as our company policies are suitable for facilitating rapid growth.
  • Represent: Be a senior managerial face of the company to our teams and other key stakeholders such as shareholders, prospective employees and investors. 

Competencies:

  • Managerial Excellence: Oversee a team of high performing managers, as well as a broader team of more than 80 people globally.  
  • Strategic Ability: Work alongside company directors and other senior managers to make bold but smart strategic decisions which achieve our growth objectives and are aligned with our values and mission.
  • Communication Ability: Work with and inspire teams across a variety of departments. Communicate company messaging to managers and other team members.
  • Operational Ability: Effectively execute on plans, in an organized and efficient way to build workable systems, set policy and run daily HR functions. 
  • Fluency in English is essential.

Experience:

  • At least 4 years working in HRM.
  • Have demonstrated a passion for travel, international education, or relevant industries.
