Role Summary:
- Drive regional business growth within the UK and the Netherlands.
- Master the Carbon and Energy Attribute Certificates market with support from our climate experts.
- Develop strategic client relationships and expand South Pole’s certificates business line.
- Facilitate cross-functional team collaboration to tackle client challenges and deliver excellence.
- Advise top companies on climate solutions, serving as the primary link between certificate solutions and clients.
- Shape the commercial strategy for the region, attend events, and represent South Pole.
Role Requirements:
- Fluent in English; Dutch fluency advantageous but not essential.
- Based in Amsterdam or London with experience in the carbon or energy market preferred.
- Minimum 5 years in corporate sustainability or Key Account Management with a successful sales record.

Job summary:
Being part of our team would mean joining colleagues from the UK and the Netherlands to grow our business regionally. You have the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of the Carbon and Energy Attribute Certificates market, supported by our in house climate experts.
As a Business Development Manager you are responsible to grow a portfolio of strategic clients as well as to proactively and independently expand South Pole’s certificates business line through new and existing business.
You are the spider in the web connecting teams and experts to solve client challenges while delivering customer excellence at every interaction.
You will support the biggest companies in the region to solve the climate crisis, advising on best fit solutions, acting as the main interface between our certificate solutions and our clients, driving the commercial strategy for the region.
Main tasks & responsibilities:
Develop and execute sales strategies in close cooperation with your line manager- Deliver on the go to market strategy and achieve Revenue and Gross Profit targets
- Bring to market a large suite of products and structure deals appropriately to grow business
- Build a strong pipeline and recognise how to bring in new business and identify cross and upsell opportunities with existing clients
- Lead and own client interactions, negotiate contracts and attend events to represent South Pole in the region
- Cooperate closely with the solutions expert teams to define, shape and position our solutions and evaluate the relevance, effectiveness and viability of product/service offerings
- Stay on top of climate trends and develop in-depth knowledge of competitors, clients, and market dynamics to better demonstrate the superiority of our climate solutions in terms of quality and credibility and benefits for our clients
Requirements:
- Fluent in English with location either in Amsterdam or London
- Fluency in Dutch would be an advantage but not a requirement
- Experience in the carbon or energy market would be an advantage
- At least 5 years of proven work experience in corporate sustainability (renewable energy or carbon) in a client-facing role and/or 5 years of Key Account Management experience with a track record in meeting and exceeding ambitious client sales targets
