Role Summary:
- Conduct user research and analysis to understand design requirements.
- Collaborate with senior designers and product leads to discover product opportunities.
- Develop and iterate on design artifacts, from discovery to execution.
- Design marketing assets for various channels and collaborate on special projects.
- Work closely with engineers, making design decisions based on technical and business considerations.
- Contribute to and enhance The Body Coach Design System for product consistency.
- Utilize tools such as Slack, Figma, Miro, Amplitude, Github, and Dovetail for collaboration.
Role Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of product design experience with a strong portfolio.
- Proficient in visual design, prototyping, user-centered design methodologies, and accessibility principles.
- Ability to analyze user data to inform design decisions.

What the job involves
- You’ll understand the people you are designing for through user research sessions, learning from previous insights, analytics or working with others to run your own research and analysis
- You’ll work collaboratively with our senior designer and product lead to identify opportunities within the product and create simple and delightful solutions that meet our users’ needs
- You’ll create and iterate on a range of design artefacts from initial discovery and user journey maps, prototypes through to the execution of design details
- You’ll work with the growth team and other areas of the business on a wide range of design assets across different marketing channels such as email, web, social media, paid ads and special projects
- You’ll collaborate closely with our engineers and will balance the ideal experience with knowing where and when to make trade-offs based on technical constraints, experiments or business risk
- Make evidence-based design decisions and articulate them clearly to stakeholders, balancing confidence in your work with openness to feedback
- You’ll actively contribute and improve The Body Coach Design System, enhancing consistency and efficiency across products
- You’ll use tools like Slack, Figma, Miro, Amplitude, Github and Dovetail to collaborate with the team
Key tasks and responsibilities
- Translate complex user needs into intuitive, functional product designs
- Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes and other design artefacts
- Work with others to conduct user research and usability testing to inform design decisions
- Collaborate with product managers and designers to define and prioritise features
- Work closely with our engineers to solve problems creatively and turn ideas into real world products
- Design assets for a range of touch points across web, email, special events, paid ads and social media
- Improve and maintain our design system to ensure consistency
- Analyse user data and feedback to continuously improve our product
- Present design concepts and evidence to stakeholders
Requirements
- 3+ years of product design experience, showcasing a clear passion for design
- Strong visual design and prototyping skills, with hands-on experience using tools like Figma, or any other modern high-fidelity prototyping tool of choice
- Proficiency in user-centered design methodologies, including understanding of user research and usability testing
- Experience in accessibility and inclusive design practices
- Ability to analyse user data and metrics to inform design decisions
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills

Interview process
- Initial call (30 minutes) - A video chat with Tom our senior product designer and Grace our product lead who is part of our hiring team. This focuses on general suitability and fit for The Body Coach.
- Craft (1 hour) - You’ll meet more of the team and be expected to present a recent case study that reflects the type of work you like to do.
- Final round (30 mins) - You’ll meet Nikki our CEO and talk through some of your work
