Role Summary:

The British Museum is looking for a Loans Coordinator: Loans and Exhibitions. This is a full-time, permanent role based in Bloomsbury with the option for remote working.
The role: As a Loans Coordinator, you will effectively co-ordinate the Museum’s loan projects and reactive loans, whilst maintaining high standards in Museum practice and risk management. You will respond to loan requests from external borrowers, maintain records on the Loans database and co-ordinate object loans from the collections of the British Museum to exhibitions in the UK and worldwide. You will also deliver logistical arrangements connected with loan projects in compliance with licences and legal requirements and assist with other object moves for acquisition or other purposes as required.
Job requirements: The ideal candidate will have a degree in a relevant subject or equivalent experience, knowledge of museum and cultural sector, experience of financial administration, excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Experience of working in a museum/gallery or related organisation and experience of project processes including risk management is desirable.
