What we’re looking for:
An experienced E-commerce / Growth Manager to own our DTC business, including both the website, email marketing, and our online membership programme, The Olive Oil Club.
This person will love data and be analytical, helping us grow the business by provoking the right questions and making smart decisions.
This is an e-comm “generalist” role, in that it will include user experience, e-comm design, and conversion optimisation.
This person will report directly into the founders and work in close collaboration with team members in brand & marketing as well as operations. You’ll also manage an e-comm agency to support you with advertising and development.
The ideal candidate:
- Has 3+ years working in an e-comm role for a similar type of brand.
- Is very comfortable working with Shopify, Klaviyo, and ideally a subscription tool (e.g. Recharge).
- Is results-orientated and can demonstrate a track record of wins that have impacted previous business.
- Enjoys a bit of research, digging into data, and seeking out solutions.
- Has strong accountability and a solid work ethic.
- Has a positive attitude and a tenacious character; things in our business can change quickly, so being comfortable reacting fast to unexpected opportunities and challenges will make this job exciting for you.
- Proactive, independent and autonomous, whilst also friendly and collaborative in a small team and with our most valued partners.
- Aligned with the mission and ethics of Citizens of Soil, specifically wanting to progress a mission around turning a commodity into a community to benefit people and planet.
- Enjoys working in small, entrepreneurial, start-up environments.
- Loves food & drink (it’s nice to take pleasure in what you do!)
- Has a current right to work and live in the UK.
- Can regularly commute into the central London office (Farringdon).
Your duties will include:
- CMS: Manage all of the front-end elements of our e-comm platform (Shopify), ensuring that the core funnel, landing pages, and emails are consistent with our brand and offer a top user experience.
- Email: Build and send emails (flows and campaigns in Klaviyo).
- CRO: Use analytics tools to review, test, and optimise every touchpoint on a regular basis.
- Membership experience: Work closely with the wider team to ensure seamless experience for our valued Olive Oil Club members, from solid communication, surprise perks, and general support to prevent confusion or errors for a more seamless ongoing journey for our Citizens.
- Content: Work with marketing to get copy and design, and then make sure every piece of content, from product thumbnails to blog articles, are well-crafted, engaging, and meticulously formatted for brand consistency.
- SEO: Own the on-page strategy (keyword relevance, internal linking, technical requirements), using data to drive ideas for the marketing & content creation team.
- Merchandising: Set up all new products, up/cross-sells, and bundles—looking for opportunities to grow the basket size and get people excited about our EVOOs.
- Design and visual communication: Our brand aesthetic is everything, so you’ll work with the team to get assets and templates, but you will also be using Canva or Figma to spin up basic website and email graphics as needed.
- People & planet: Be a champion of our sustainability ethos and look at every decision from an impact lens.
In return, you’ll get:
- 28 days holiday, in addition to bank holidays (FT).
- An opportunity to grow within a scaling business.
- Flexibility to support your work-life balance.
- The sense of purpose that comes from working for something bigger than the business itself.
- The finest extra virgin olive oils we can source (we’ll keep you stocked up with the good stuff)!
Diversity & inclusion:
At Citizens of Soil, our vision is for a more fair, sustainable, and flavourful table. And that starts with our team. We’re cultivating a culture of inclusion because we know we need a diverse team to learn and grow. We embrace your unique contributions and will work to ensure you feel a sense of belonging.
