At GrantTree, we are on a continuous quest to broaden our circle of subcontracted Technical Writers. We partner with a plethora of the UK’s trailblazing companies, aiding them in optimising their government funding prospects.
Our Technical Writers play a pivotal role in devising persuasive and captivating narratives tailored to the specific requirements of each grant. They ignite the assessors’ imaginations, ensuring our clients achieve regular funding successes. We are now seeking to bolster our network with more skilled writers.

We cultivate a diverse pool of subcontracted writers, aligning projects with those whose experience and skills best match the task at hand. As an Innovate UK Grant Writer, you will quickly grasp the essence of your client's vision and aims through in-depth discussions with founders and C-level executives, complemented by extensive background research. You'll forge strong connections with our internal team, supplying them with insightful content and guidance for every application you undertake. Your task will be to craft clear, authentic application narratives that not only resonate in GrantTree’s distinctive voice but also align precisely with client specifications, ensuring the best possible positioning for funding success.
Requirements
- You are a trained scientist, engineer (STEM subject), or Medical Doctor, preferably with a Ph.D. or MSc in your chosen discipline and/or significant experience in your chosen STEM subject
- You can converse confidently with senior professionals and innovators that are at the cutting edge of their fields in a variety of subject matters
- You are comfortable working remotely from GrantTree and its clients
- An in-depth understanding of UK/EU Grants funding landscapes and an expert level knowledge of the Grants application process
- You work as a self-sufficient freelancer; as an established sole-trader or limited company structure
- We are particularly interested in those with backgrounds in life sciences, physical sciences or computing
Benefits
For this role, we offer a fixed sum per application and a share of our success fee.
