- Strategically partner with domain heads to achieve growth goals and maintain a motivated team.
- Oversee key HR processes including talent cycle design, salary reviews, performance management, and employee engagement.
- Collaborate on hiring plans, org design, and development initiatives.
- Drive data-informed decisions to address complex employee relations cases and enhance the employee experience.
- Solid experience in HR, particularly in performance enablement, compensation, coaching, and employment law.
- Strong business acumen paired with empathy and a commitment to fairness and Perlego's values.
- Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments and enact impactful change.
- Data-savvy with an understanding of how to leverage insights for talent management.
- Preferably experienced in tech partnerships, Agile/Scrum methodologies, and talent acquisition.
- CIPD membership or coaching qualifications are a plus.

Over the past 5 years, our goal has been to support students across the UK & Europe to access quality books. The next stage of Perlego is twofold: 1) expand our support to students globally, and 2) build a product that goes beyond the book, a platform that helps students study smarter and more effectively.
What we’re looking for
A smart, creative, passionate people and talent professional who has experience building strong growth and performance frameworks, solving complex people problems and hiring world-class talent.
You will be a trusted advisor to our Domain Heads, senior leaders who are the owners of our strategic pillars. You will coach, challenge and support them in achieving our growth goals, while maintaining a happy and engaged team.
How we work together
We work in a matrix structure and we organise ourselves into cross-functional tribes working together on common goals, with each tribe focusing on a specific domain and including all the necessary roles and skills to deliver on our objectives.
As a People Partner your role will split between building and managing People Products and People Partnering.
What you’ll do
With the whole company…
- Own key people products; talent cycle design, salary reviews, performance, growth and progression & engagement
- You’ll be responsible for ensuring we have clear and consistent performance measures that align with business operations and our current rhythm
- You’ll own our salary review process ensuring salary decisions are equitable and within budget whilst minimising the influence of biases
- You’ll ensure we have the right growth and progression opportunities in place to retain our top talent
- You’ll review and analyse company-wide engagement insight presenting solutions to the COO
With the Domain Leaders & Managers …
- Collaborate, support and coach our domain leaders on all people-related matters, including org design, learning and development, reward, performance enablement and sensitive people issues
- Partner with the domain heads on hiring plans and resourcing, working with Ben our talent specialist and finance to build this into company-wide planning
- Supporting hiring in your domains in particularly busy hiring seasons
- Nurture a culture of continuous learning and radical candour
Requirements
It’s the perfect role for you if you:
- Have experience solving complex people problems
- Have experience in supporting senior business leaders, you're comfortable with coaching, supporting and debating them in decision-making
- Comfortable and capable across a range of HR/People areas, including performance enablement, progression and development, compensation and reward, coaching, employment law and compliance
- You are commercially minded, yet have empathy for individuals - you're comfortable in managing complex and often sensitive people issues that are fair, consistent and in line with Perlego's values
- Thrive in ambiguity, you're comfortable in environments which are still evolving and have a proven record of making impactful changes within them
- You understand and respect the role that data plays in building a talent & people function, you can confidently identify, analyse and use the right data points to drive decisions balanced with a healthy mix of intuition
- Have experience dealing with complex ER cases
- You have a specialism in Employee Experience; designing experiences that build engagement and performance
- Whether written or verbal, you are clear and articulate and understand the right language to use in different situations - you can bring people on the journey and sell a vision!
⭐️ It’s a plus if you have:
- Experience people partnering within tech
- Experience with Agile and/or Scrum
- Experience in talent from role design to hiring
- Have a coaching qualification or CIPD membership
What success looks like for this role
In 3 months you will have:
- Relationships: You’ll have built strong and trusting relationships with our domain heads
- Knowledge and Context: You’ll have a deep understanding of our business model and the context you operate within
- Engagement: You’ll have developed an engagement plan alongside our COO to inform our 2025 roadmap.
- Salary Reviews: You’ll have planned, and conducted a holistic, consistent and equitable companywide salary review process.
In 6 months you will have:
- Launched our new Talent Cycle: Our talent cycle was built in 2021 and after several iterations and a changing business you’ll have redesigned our Talent Cycle using Product Principles. Including but not limited to; how we review performance, development, and growth alongside our salary reviews.

We operate a flexible hybrid working environment. If you’re based in London, we’d expect to see you in the office twice a week, if you’re outside of London we’d expect to see you at least 6 times a quarter (hopefully at our quarterly socials 💃).
