  • Role Summary - Engage in preventive and interventive conservation of sculptures and related objects. - Evaluate conservation challenges and devise effective solutions. - Perform practical conservation work and documentation to the highest standards. - Contribute to the care and preparation of collections for exhibitions, loans, and new gallery developments.

The Role The V&A has been collecting sculpture and related objects for over 150 years. This diverse collection is unrivalled for breadth and quality, spanning from the early medieval period to innovative contemporary design. As a Senior Conservator (Sculpture and Related Objects) you will be part of the Sculpture, Ceramics and Glass conservation team. You will undertake all aspects of preventive and interventive conservation and be able to evaluate conservation problems, develop solutions and produce practical work and documentation all to high standards.

Job requirements You will have excellent understanding and practical knowledge of organic and inorganic materials and mix media objects, their degradation processes and conservation techniques. You will have a good experience in forward planning, prioritising, and delivering to deadlines objects for new gallery developments, exhibitions, loans and collections care.
