Our new Treasurer will help support our new charity to ensure robust financial stewardship of all funds raised and provide support to our team of volunteers to ensure careful recording and monitoring of income and expenditure.

What will you be doing?

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

Monitoring the financial standing of the charity and reporting to the Board regarding cash-flow forecasting, income streams, out-going expenses and the overarching strategic management of the organisation’s financial resources. Overseeing the charity’s financial risk-management process and reporting financial health to the board of trustees at regular intervals. Acting as a counter signatory on cheques and applications to funders and ensuring that annual accounts are submitted to all relevant regulators in a timely fashion. Liaising with external auditors (where appropriate or required) on financial issues and ensuring that the charity’s finances are responsibly managed/invested for the betterment of the charity’s work and for the beneficiaries it serves. Consulting with and supporting the Chair of Trustees and the Chief Executive Officer on matters of financial strategy and governance. Maintaining careful oversight of any risk to financial standing of the organisation Attending and joining other committees or working groups when appropriate in the role as Treasurer and Trustee.

What are we looking for?

Desirable skills and experience • Qualified accountant with demonstrated commercial awareness and knowledge. • Knowledge of charity SORP and impending changes or commitment to learn. • Proven ability to communicate and explain financial information to members of the Board and other stakeholders. • Analytical and evaluation skills, demonstrating good judgment. • Understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship. • Knowledge and experience of charity fundraising and finance practices. • Dedicated to the organisation’s cause and objectives
