What will you be doing?

We are seeking a dedicated Treasurer to join our team at the Surrey Poet Laureateship. In this vital role, you will manage the financial operations of our organisation, ensuring that our resources are allocated effectively to support our mission of making poetry accessible and enjoyable for all. Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management: Oversee budgeting, accounting, and bookkeeping, ensuring accurate financial records are maintained. Fund Allocation: Allocate funds to various projects and initiatives, supporting the delivery of community poetry events and programmes. Fundraising: Lead fundraising efforts, including writing bids and securing sponsorships to enhance our financial sustainability. Reporting: Prepare financial reports for board meetings, offering insights and recommendations on financial strategy.

Key Deliverables: The primary deliverable for this role is the successful management of our financial resources, including timely and accurate financial reports, effective bookkeeping, and the allocation of funds to support ongoing and new projects. Collaboration: You will work closely with the board of trustees and fellow committee members, contributing to strategic discussions and ensuring that financial planning aligns with our goals.
