What we do

At Perlego, there are almost 100 of us working hard to make education accessible to all. We believe access to good quality affordable learning unlocks potential. Knowledge should be more accessible, not locked behind sky-high price tags.

Over the past 7 years, our goal has been to support students across the UK & Europe to access quality books. We've just closed a $20M funding round, to continue our current ambitions of 1) expanding our support to students globally, specifically looking at the US and 2) building a product that goes beyond the book, a platform that helps students study smarter and more effectively.

What you’ll get

We believe in the key role you will play to achieve our shared mission. This is a unique opportunity to join one of Europe’s most celebrated growth scale-ups, in a senior and high-impact role. This is an opportunity for you to have real impact in improving the content proposition for students which helps improve education accessibility for learners globally.

What we’re looking for

  • An experienced account management leader who has a proven track record of building high performing teams in fast-growth and rapidly changing environments.
  • You have exceptional interpersonal skills, easily being able to build trust and strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders of all seniorities and personalities.
  • You have an operational systems mindset, with strong analytical capabilities and CRM experience to identify opportunities and problem areas to solve. You look at these holistically and solve through building and improving processes, as well as jumping in to solve first-hand if needed.
  • You are a naturally optimistic problem solver, you thrive at taking on new challenges, you are not afraid to roll up your sleeves and do what it takes to make things successful.
  • It would be extremely helpful if you have knowledge of the publishing industry; a passion for books and learning is a must!

How we work together

This role will be part of the content team, which is a commercial function that brings financial and strategic value to publishers, and collaborates closely within Perlego with product, data, finance and engineering.

What you’ll do

Your remit will be ensuring the success of our publisher partners. This role will have three main responsibilities:

  1. Enable and build a high-performing account management team
  2. Being an advocate for our publisher partners, ensuring we are delivering strong value for them and for Perlego
  3. Driving overall operational improvements to our account management processes

You’ll line manage a team of 6 experienced account managers covering publishers in the UK, US, Europe and LATAM, setting them up for success by providing operational insights, identifying areas for improvement, analysing CRM data and driving strategic initiatives. Whilst you won’t be primarily responsible for your own accounts, you’ll be supporting the team on the most important and key accounts to ensure an excellent level of service is maintained. You’ll bring deep understanding of the role of account management and how this can be operationally optimised to improve account outcomes.

You’ll make extensive use of our CRM and implement our content strategy, using data analytics tools and collaborating closely with our product, data and engineering teams.

You’ll help improve product-market fit with publishers, such as building and operationalising our publisher data dashboard into a tool that empowers publishers and their authors, and gives us a competitive advantage in the market.

Requirements

It’s the perfect role for you if you have:

  • Experience and a track record of success in operations, account management, or related roles within a technology or SaaS company.
  • Excellent collaboration skills across different functions as well as brilliant communication skills
  • Experience of using Hubspot to solve operational challenges and automate processes
  • Strong people management experience, including hiring and growing a high-performing and engaged team
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing and optimising operational processes, driving efficiency, and improving customer experiences.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and deliver results within tight deadlines.

⭐️ It’s a plus if you have:

  • Knowledge of the book publishing industry
  • Additional language skills to English (French, Spanish, German, Italian)
