What will you be doing?
Successful candidates must also be able to demonstrate:
Minimum of 3 years in a senior finance role and ideally be a fully qualified accountant. Excellent communication and collaborative approach to working with others. Knowledge of charity finances and the Charity Commission's requirements, or the willingness to develop this knowledge. The ability to provide, communicate financial information and advice to members of the Trustee Board and other stakeholders. Knowledge of Muslim communities
The Finance Trustee/Treasurer can serve for an initial term of three years and will have the opportunity to be re-appointed for a second term (maximum of six years). Board meetings are currently held once a month with a 2-3 hours monthly time commitment. The number of Board meetings will be reviewed in late 2025. All reasonable expenses will be covered by the charity. We are happy to discuss the above further with the Chair.
What are we looking for?

The ability to provide, communicate and explain financial information and advice to members of the Trustee Board and other stakeholders. Experience in using Xero or similar accounting software. Knowledge of Muslim communities. Person should be keen on learning about the various charities we support. Have a good sense of humour, we like a balance of fun times and getting the work done.
