Keep Britain Tidy, in collaboration with the London Borough of Wandsworth and Serco, is seeking dedicated individuals for a pivotal role in a residential engagement campaign promoting food waste recycling. Organisation Summary:

Waste & Recycling Advisors (Wandsworth)
Salary: £13.85 per hour (London Living Wage)
Plus a £13.85 shift allowance for every 7.5 hour complete shift worked (equivalent to an extra £1.75 per hour) and an additional £200 for completing 20 shifts.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, worked at 7.5 paid hours per day
Tuesday – Saturday, 10:00-18:00 with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break (7.5 paid hours per day)
Part time positions for the Recycling Advisor roles will be considered with a minimum three days a week commitment
Contract: Casual Contract (For up to one month)
Location: Mobile, anywhere within the boundary of the London Borough of Wandsworth
Keep Britain Tidy is working with the London Borough of Wandsworth (the council) on behalf of Serco on a residential engagement and behaviour change doorstepping campaign. The project involves visiting 65,000 residential properties across the borough to speak to residents on their doorstep to encourage them to participate in their new food waste recycling service.
Waste & Recycling Advisors will work in pairs and will cover streets, (only low rise properties, including those converted to up to 3 flats) across the borough each day on foot.
Responsibilities include:
· Engaging with residents about their waste and recycling service, using reference resources where appropriate (provided by the council).
· Recording resident responses into a bespoke form using data collection software on a touchscreen tablet (provided) and submitting this to the Project Manager on a daily basis.
Subject to successful interview there will be three mandatory days of paid training and applicants must be available to attend all training days.
The successful applicants will have an interest in and understanding of the environmental and waste sectors, and the ability and willingness to undertake work in an outdoor environment.
This position will provide sought-after experience for someone looking for a career in the environmental sector, especially the waste and recycling industry, and is paid at the London Living Wage. In joining this project you also have the opportunity of joining our Bank of Casual Workers, through which further employment may be available at the end of this contract.
