Code First Girls is looking for committed and experienced technical individuals to become instructors for our 16-week, remotely-accessible, evening Mid-Level Accelerator (MLA) programme. The Spring 2025 MLA will be starting April 2025, and it is open to women and non-binary people with a minimum 1.5+ years in a tech role who wish to upskill and progress to a mid-level developer role.
The curriculum aims to improve their technical professional skills and leadership skills over the course of 16 weeks. It will focus on building a T-shaped skill set, building expertise in areas such as technical leadership, agility and automation, and guide students to create innovative and inclusive products.
The initial engagement will be a freelance contract for the delivery of our 16-week MLA. We offer competitive remuneration in line with your technical and teaching skills and experience. You’d be joining the CFG team on a professional freelance basis, helping to shape our MLA programme, focused on delivering a great product that can help our students progress in their tech role.
The contact hours will be Tuesday – Thursday from 6.00 pm – 8.00 pm. Live Labs will take place Tuesdays and Thursdays between 6.30pm-8.00pm, and drop-in sessions should be held on Wednesday evenings. You must be able to commit to delivering all live labs throughout the course. As an MLA instructor you will be expected to provide some online support to students outside of these hours.
We will be recruiting a number of Lead Instructors to deliver the course. These candidates will need to have at a minimum Mid-Level tech experience (Senior level preferred). They should also be comfortable teaching topics such as: Modern Software Development Architecture, Product Design and Development, CI / CD, TDD and BDD, Monitoring and Analytics, Debugging and Error Handling.
Candidates will also be expected to support students as they work on developing a fullstack application as part of their project work. We look for a variety of technical skills in our teaching team, therefore will be open to considering candidates who have all-round tech skills, but also those with strengths in a particular area.
Start date: Onboarding late march for a cohort start of April. If your initial application is successful we will invite you to a virtual interview with the CFG team.
