Role Summary:
- Manage supplier invoices and reconcile accounts
- Assist with VAT returns and support month-end processes
- Maintain accurate financial records and process payroll
- Handle various administrative tasks to assure smooth financial operations
- Work hand-in-hand with the Finance Manager to deliver timely and accurate financial information
- Contribute to the creation of management accounts and aid in enhancing financial processes and controls
Role Requirements:
- You are AAT qualified or have equivalent experience
- 3+ years of bookkeeping experience potentially in a multi-entity environment
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks)
- Possess strong attention to detail and accuracy, as well as excellent organisational and time management skills
- Experience with international transactions and multi-currency accounting
- Excel skills and the ability to manage large datasets
- Previous experience with Shopify or similar e-commerce platforms is a plus

The role - Senior Accounts Assistant
As the Senior Accounts Assistant at Mrs Wordsmith, you will play a crucial role in supporting the finance department's day-to-day operations. Your duties will include managing supplier invoices, reconciling accounts, assisting with VAT returns, and supporting month-end processes. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing payroll, and handling various administrative tasks to ensure smooth financial operations. You will work closely with the Finance Manager to provide timely and accurate financial information, contribute to the preparation of management accounts, and assist in improving financial processes and controls.
Job requirements
You should be AAT qualified or have equivalent experience, with 3+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a multi-entity environment. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks) is essential, as is strong attention to detail and accuracy. Good organisational and time management skills are required, along with familiarity with international transactions and multi-currency accounting.
