Backed by top-tier investors, Numan is already having a positive impact on hundreds of thousands of patients here in the UK, and we want you to help us deliver this mission!

We are looking for a Head of Behavioural Medicine to drive innovation and programme development within our lifestyle and obesity health coaching offerings. This role sits within the Obesity Business Unit and will be integral to designing and testing new interventions, leading a team of behavioural SMEs, and collaborating with AI product teams to develop hybrid coaching models.

You will be responsible for leading the research strategy, designing pilot interventions, and ensuring readiness for integration into our core services. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in identifying opportunities for behavioural science methodologies to enhance patient engagement and outcomes.

You’ll be:

  • Leading a team of behavioural SMEs, including behavioural scientists, psychologists, and dietitians, to develop and optimise obesity-related programmes.
  • Designing, testing, and iterating new evidence-based behavioural programme interventions across content, product, AI, and coaching.
  • Collaborating with the Head of Health Coaching to innovate and refine coaching interventions, including exploring new modes of delivery (e.g., video, calls), new coaching topics (e.g., emotional eating), and new tools for enhancing engagement.
  • Defining and executing research strategies for lifestyle programming and health coaching, leveraging qualitative and quantitative research methods.
  • Working closely with AI product teams to integrate behavioural programming and hybrid coaching models.
  • Acting as an in-team SME on obesity and behaviour change, ensuring evidence-based approaches to patient care.
  • Reporting on programme KPIs, gathering user insights, and ensuring pilots are scalable and effective for wider business integration.

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • Extensive experience in behavioural science, psychology, or a related field, with a focus on obesity, lifestyle interventions, and behaviour change.
  • Proven track record in designing and executing research strategies in behavioural medicine, health coaching, or related areas.
  • Strong experience in programme development, from concept through to pilot and full-scale integration.
  • Knowledge of AI-driven and digital health interventions, with an ability to collaborate across technical and clinical teams.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with experience in managing SMEs across various disciplines.
  • Ability to synthesise research insights and apply them to real-world health interventions.

It’s a bonus if you have:

  • Experience working within a product-focused health tech environment.
  • Knowledge of clinical governance, risk reporting, and quality assurance in health coaching or digital health interventions.
  • Exposure to hybrid coaching models integrating AI and human-led support.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with AI product teams to develop scalable digital solutions.
