About You

Do you want to play a critical role in building the UK’s next market leader in residential solar? Does the idea of helping to tackle the energy crisis and the climate crisis by making renewable solar energy mainstream and affordable excite you? If so, read on!

About the Role

If you are eager to learn and are not afraid to dive straight into new challenges, this role is a great opportunity to be part of something innovative and new in the UK solar space.

As an Operations Associate at Sunsave, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of our innovative residential solar subscription proposition, Sunsave Plus. You will be a core member of the Operations team, in a dynamic and fast-paced environment that is central to the success of Sunsave’s business.

As an Operations Associate, you will be involved in many aspects of the delivery of our solar and battery installations including being responsible for:

  • Project management - managing the end-to-end installation process including coordinating with customers, scaffolders, installers, logistics providers, and industry bodies to deliver an outstanding customer installation experience.
  • Customer communication - building a rapport with customers throughout their installation journey, effectively managing their expectations and handling any unexpected issues that arise.
  • Technical knowledge - learning the basic technical details of a solar installation to be able to carry out simple surveys, estimate scaffolding costs, and liaise with technically trained staff where required to solve installation issues.
  • You will also have opportunities to engage with other teams in the business such as Sales and Product as we build efficient and scalable processes for delivering exceptional installation experiences for our customers.

We are a young and fast growing company and you will therefore need to be adaptable and be able to take the initiative in solving problems!

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Essential Requirements

  • High organisational ability and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; experience in (or a real desire to work in) customer-facing roles is strongly preferred.
  • Self-motivated, curious and proactive in finding and solving problems.
  • Flexibility to operate in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
  • Excited to learn about solar PV and domestic renewables installations.

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience in solar/renewables/energy.

If you don’t feel your skills/experience fulfil all of the brief above, or you feel you’re over-qualified for the role, but would be a great fit for us, please apply! We’re a flexible employer looking for the right person, rather than the perfect CV.

About Us

We’re Sunsave and our mission is to increase access to green energy by offering solar on a subscription basis with no upfront cost. We want to empower customers by helping them reduce their electricity bills from day one saving tens of thousands over the lifetime of our product, and all while contributing to a cleaner, greener Britain. (Which we think is a pretty cool aim).

We’re an ambitious, tech-driven and well-funded start up aspiring to become the UK market leader in the solar space. And we're well on our way - Sifted recently named us the 14th fastest-growing startup in the UK & Ireland. However, we’re committed to doing it right. We place our customers at the heart of everything we do and strive to deliver excellence at every step of the process, from procurement to installation, and beyond.

By joining our team at this early stage, the opportunities for progression, growth and career development are massive, and the potential here at Sunsave is huge. However, we know that in order to achieve our ambitious goals, we need a brilliant team. We’re dedicated to building a bright and diverse business, valuing different perspectives and approaches and knowing that we’ll achieve far more together than we ever could alone.

We appreciate that building a truly diverse team means being flexible. We all have different situations and we’re committed to helping everyone have a voice at the table. We support a hybrid/flexible approach but work in the office Monday to Thursday as the norm.
