Role Summary

  • Work closely with the marketing team, defining KPIs and assessing the impact of marketing efforts
  • Design and ensure best practices for data collection, tracking marketing campaigns and user interactions
  • Develop and manage data pipelines for quick access to marketing analysis
  • Create engaging dashboards and reports to share key insights
  • Conduct A/B testing and leverage statistical analysis to inform marketing strategy


Role Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related technical field and 3-5 years of marketing analytics experience
  • Strong SQL skills, proficiency in Python and libraries like Pandas, NumPy
  • Understanding of data pipeline development, A/B testing methodologies
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools like Looker, Tableau, Power BI
  • Effective communication and project management abilities
  • Preferred: Familiarity with EdTech sector, experience with Airflow, Databricks, Looker, and Amplitude

We are seeking a highly skilled and collaborative Data Scientist to join our Data Science team. In this role, you will report directly to the Director of Data Science and be instrumental in shaping our marketing strategies through in-depth analytics. You will leverage your expertise in user segmentation, marketing performance measurement, A/B testing, and advanced analytics techniques to gain insights into marketing effectiveness and inform strategic decisions.

Our ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of marketing principles, and the ability to translate analysis into actionable recommendations. You should excel in communication and collaboration, working closely with cross-functional teams—including marketing managers, product managers, and engineers—to ensure that data drives marketing decision-making and optimizes campaign performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with marketing teams to define KPIs and assess the impact of marketing efforts on business goals.
  • Design and implement strategies for tracking marketing campaigns and user interactions, ensuring best practices for data collection.
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines for seamless access to marketing analysis.
  • Design interactive dashboards and reports to visualize data and share insights with stakeholders, including regular reporting on marketing performance metrics.
  • Create and refine attribution models to evaluate marketing channel effectiveness.
  • Conduct A/B testing and incrementality tests to determine the impact of marketing initiatives on business objectives.
  • Leverage statistical analysis and predictive modeling to inform marketing strategy, customer segmentation, and retention initiatives.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related technical field.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience using data to advise marketing or business teams, with a focus on marketing analytics.
  • Strong SQL skills and advanced proficiency in statistical programming languages such as Python, along with experience using data manipulation libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy).
  • Knowledge of data pipeline development and best practices in data management.
  • Strong applied statistics skills, including experience with statistical inference techniques and A/B testing methodologies.
  • Intermediate proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI) and a willingness to learn new tools as needed.
  • Excellent business intuition and project management abilities.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, with experience presenting to diverse teams and stakeholders, from individual contributors to executives.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with the education technology sector, specifically with platforms like Coursera
  • Experience with Airflow, Databricks and/or Looker
  • Experience with Amplitude
