What will you be doing?
The ATLP governance structure reflects our shared vision. The Trust Board holds overall legal responsibility for the Trust and its schools. Trustees are supported by school advocates, who provide local oversight and report key aspects of school performance and culture in termly trust-wide committees. Key Responsibilities Governance & Leadership:
Provide leadership. Attend Board and committee meetings (each Trustee sits on at least two). Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Strategic Planning:
Contribute to trust strategy, policies, and KPIs for continuous improvement.
Financial Oversight:
Review budgets, financial statements, and expenditure. Monitor financial health and ensure responsible financial management.
Risk Management:
Identify and mitigate operational, financial, and reputational risks. Ensure policies are robust and adhered to.
Time Commitment
Approx. one day per month for meetings, preparation, and engagement. Trust Board: Meets 6 times per year (virtual/in-person). Sub-Committees: Most meet 4x per year (Finance Committee meets monthly, virtual). Full schedule shared with shortlisted candidates.

What are we looking for?
Qualifications & Experience
Knowledge of corporate governance, finance, and risk management. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Accountancy/audit qualification or financial forecasting experience.
