What will you be doing?
The Opportunity Reprezent has grown over 23 years from a small radio project in Peckham to a London-wide youth station collaborating with leading institutions like UAL, The Prince’s Trust, Tate, and the Southbank Centre, as well as global brands such as Nike, Adidas, Apple, Converse, and Red Bull. The need to strengthen our marketing has never been more urgent. While our impact and brand are undeniable, we’ve historically lacked the in-house capacity to promote ourselves strategically, attract wider support, and scale our services sustainably. We’ve recently invested £40,000 in a new website and are introducing advertising for the first time, following changes in government regulation. To support this shift, we’ve completed a marketing audit to identifying our strengths, weaknesses, and key opportunities for growth. We’re now looking for volunteers to support the rollout of our refreshed marketing strategy, helping us bring it to life through a combination of strategic input and hands-on content creation. What You’ll Do
Support the delivery of our new marketing strategy Contribute to social media, website, and campaign content Provide insight on how we can reach key audiences (young people, funders, partners, listeners) Benchmark sector positioning and track performance Recommend practical improvements and creative ideas
With your help, Reprezent can reach tens of thousands more listeners and participants — transforming lives, influencing culture, and reshaping the future of the British music scene.
What are we looking for?
Support to upskill and develop our marketing services. We’re looking for a volunteer with marketing expertise to help us conduct a Marketing Audit, identifying our weaknesses, sharpening our strategy, and helping us focus our limited resources where they’ll have the biggest impact.
What difference will you make?
Our work addresses underlying issues which prevent people from fulfilling their potential, mainly: low aspirations; low self-esteem; low skill levels. The young people we support are amongst the most deprived in the country, scoring in the worst 10% on the index of multiple deprivation. Our core beneficiaries are aged 16-25, 75% BAME, 60% female and primarily locals from South London. Known as the birthplace of stars like Sherelle, Stormzy, Munya Chawawa, Femi Koleoso, Jamz Supernova, Novelist, Kenny Allstar, etc, etc. Reprezent is publicly seen as a hub for emerging talent. That's the public persona and what we want our audience to see. The reality is that we are full to the brim with music-obsessed young people from a lot of backgrounds. Those backgrounds are each young person's 'normal' - but it's the side of Reprezent we don't publicise. Amongst our ranks we have care leavers, homeless, beneficiaries with mental health issues and they are all in need of Reprezent and our support. We are dedicated to expand our work to reach tens of thousands of interactive listeners and thousands of young participants. Transforming lives, the economy and the British music scene.
