Role Summary

The British Museum, founded in 1753, is a leading visitor attraction with a remarkable collection spanning over two million years of human history and culture. Our world-famous collection includes the Rosetta Stone, Egyptian mummies, the Sutton-Hoo finds, and the Lewis Chessmen. We also hold an extensive collection of prints and drawings spanning 600 years.
As the Head of Temporary Display Delivery, you will manage and ensure the delivery of a programme of temporary displays arising from the Museum’s masterplan projects. You will work with colleagues across the Museum to develop content and deliver a programme of interim displays for material decanted in advance of gallery redevelopments, as well as a series of changing displays. You will be responsible for the deployment of project management and delivery processes to ensure the success of the programme including, but not limited to, budget, programme, risk, stakeholder and quality management.
Job requirements include a degree in a relevant subject, experience in managing complex exhibition or display projects, involving multi-disciplined teams, and excellent organisation, problem solving, risk management and communication skills. You should also have demonstrated experience of leading and motivating teams to deliver on time and within budget.
