The organisation - ISSOS We are an international summer school that provides a balanced summer program of academia, fun and culture for 13–18 year olds from over 80 nationalities, at the University of St Andrews, Cambridge and Yale universities.
The role - English Teacher Your role will be to provide an exciting and challenging syllabus where students can improve their conversational skills, including their grasp of colloquial language, develop their understanding and use of grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing and listening skills. You will be teaching a class of international students, 3 hours per day, Monday to Friday, for the duration of the 3 week programme. You will also be responsible for creating and executing interesting and engaging lesson plans, providing students with lessons tailored to their English ability, and taking part in evening activities on a compulsory rota basis.
Job requirements To apply for our roles you must either be a UK or a US citizen, or have the legal right to work in the country you are applying for a role in. You must have a CELTA, certTESOL or equivalent ESL/EFL qualification and previous teaching experience is essential. Experience in teaching international students is preferred.
Benefits We provide accommodation in all locations for all staff. Meals are provided in the halls of residence once students arrive, however, staff are responsible for their meals during Orientation. We also offer travel reimbursements and any finders’ fees are paid separately.
Applications details All of our staff must pass a full criminal background check. We provide full bed and board for you at our campuses, plus fixed payment. All staff are required to be on duty (on a rota basis) for evening programmes, activities, day trips and arrival/departure days.
