Female Counselor

ISSOS is an exciting organisation that offers high-quality summer schools for students aged 13-18 in St Andrews, Cambridge, and Yale. We are currently looking for a Female Counselor to join our team.

The role: As a counselor, you will be responsible for the welfare of all 160 students on campus. You will help organise and run sporting activities, local trips, and our varied evening programme. You will also act as a mentor and friend to the students, ensuring they are happy and safe at all times.

Job requirements: Applicants must have a minimum of 2 years' experience working with young people and be fluent in English. Interests in sport, music, theatre, dance, and other hobbies would be advantageous. Applicants must either be a UK or a US citizen, or have the legal right to work in the country they are applying for. Please note that we cannot sponsor visas for working in the UK.

Benefits: We offer a reimbursement of $2400 USD for the session. We also provide accommodation in all locations for all staff and meals are provided in the halls of residence once students arrive. Travel reimbursements and any finders’ fees are paid separately.

Visa requirements: Any nationality is welcome to apply for this role as we are able to provide sponsorship through the J1 visa. However, visa numbers are limited, therefore we strongly encourage US citizens and those who have the right to work in the US to apply for these roles.

All of our staff must pass a full criminal background check. Successful applicants will be expected to hold a current PVG/DBS or equivalent enhanced background check/be willing to obtain one. The cost of this will be covered by the company. Employment will be subject to the company receiving two references from previous employees covering your suitability for the specific position and working with those under 18 years old.
