Role Summary

  • Manage and deliver Young V&A’s Power of Play project.
  • Work in collaboration with partners such as the LEGO Group, Institute of Imagination, and Save the Children.
  • Lead a small team of Play Champions to execute learning activity in the museum’s spaces.
  • Ensure a child-centred approach drawing on the expertise within the museum.

Role Requirements

  • Strong project and people management skills.
  • Understanding of the learning needs of diverse children and families visiting the museum.
  • Preferably have familiarity with communities in Tower Hamlets.

The Role

This is a fixed term role within Young V&A’s Learning and Engagement team. The purpose is to develop, manage and deliver Young V&A’s Power of Play project, bringing regular quality learning-through-play to children in Tower Hamlets. Contract until 31 January 2026

Power of Play is a collaborative project funded by the LEGO Foundation and led by the Institute of Imagination with LEGO Group in London. Young V&A is participating in the project alongside these partners and with Save the Children, Easy Peasy and Ambition Aspire Achieve.

The project manager will lead a small team of Play Champions to deliver a regular programme of playful learning activity in the museum’s galleries and spaces. They will work collaboratively with colleagues across Young V&A and with external partners, to ensure a child-centred approach that draws on expertise and opportunity within the museum.

The role will suit someone with strong project and people management skills, with a playful outlook and understanding of the learning needs of diverse children and families visiting the museum. We would especially welcome applications from people who are familiar with communities Tower Hamlets.
