What will you be doing?

You will take the lead in managing our social media presence end-to-end — from strategy and planning, to content creation, posting, and performance tracking. This role is ideal for someone who wants hands-on experience in managing an arts-based social media account with creative freedom and full ownership of the process. Key responsibilities:

Create a 3–4 month content plan aligned with our upcoming performances, anniversaries, and community events Produce content (graphics, short captions, scheduling) at a pace of about 2 posts per week Monitor engagement and make recommendations based on post performance Collaborate with the Conductor, Events Manager, and occasional guest creatives for content inputs Join a short weekly check-in meeting (1 hour) to stay aligned with the team’s activities Use Canva, Adobe Express or a similar platform to design visually engaging and brand-consistent posts Store and organise content using Google Drive and coordinate via Google Docs/Sheets

Key deliverable:A consistent, pre-planned and scheduled stream of engaging content across our social media channels (primarily Facebook and Instagram), helping us reach wider audiences, attract performance bookings, and document our journey as a choir. You’ll mostly work independently, but you’ll be supported by a small and friendly team — including our conductor and a few core members — who can offer feedback, supply materials (e.g. photos, videos), and provide choir updates you can turn into content. We value initiative and welcome ideas. If you have creative suggestions — from video reels to behind-the-scenes stories — we’re open to experimenting and growing together. While we’ve outlined core tasks, there’s flexibility in how you contribute, especially if you bring a unique skillset or fresh approach to digital engagement. This is a chance to help amplify the voice of a community-centred choir and build a meaningful, arts-focused portfolio piece — all within a supportive and culturally rich environment.

What are we looking for?

Skills, Experience and Qualities

A strong interest in music, the arts, or Filipino culture (highly desirable) Experience or confidence in creating social media content (Facebook, Instagram) Skills in Canva, Adobe Express, or similar design platforms Familiarity with Google Apps (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Meet) The ability to work independently and manage a content calendar Strong communication skills and attention to detail A creative eye and the initiative to try new ideas Willingness to attend a 1-hour weekly catch-up meeting and contribute at least 5 hours a week

This role is perfect for someone who wants hands-on experience with creative freedom, and who thrives in a flexible, self-directed setup.

What difference will you make?

Your work will directly shape how Haraya Choir is seen by the world — from fellow musicians and arts organisations, to potential partners, donors, and wider communities. By building and managing our social media presence, you’ll help us amplify our message, celebrate our performances, and attract new audiences who might never have encountered Filipino music or the unique story of a British–Filipino choir. Your posts will inspire pride in our members, visibility in the arts sector, and engagement from our multicultural community. Your contribution will allow us to:

Professionally showcase our work across digital platforms Build recognition that can lead to performance bookings and funding opportunities Connect with other choirs, artists, and supporters in the UK and internationally Document our musical journey and reach those who may want to join or support our mission

Haraya Choir was born from a vision of cultural exchange, musical excellence, and community spirit. Your creative skills will help us grow that vision, sustain momentum between performances, and make the joy of choral singing accessible to more people — especially those in the Filipino diaspora who rarely see themselves represented in the arts. This role goes beyond social media — it’s about preserving stories, sharing heritage, and building a legacy of voices that deserve to be heard.
