Lovegrass is on a mission to connect the world with the ancient Ethiopian supergrain, teff, while creating meaningful social impact at the source. We work directly with rural Ethiopian farmers, providing seeds, training, and machinery while guaranteeing fair market access. By building ethical, transparent supply chains, we’re not just creating nutritious, allergen-free foods — we’re supporting livelihoods, preserving heritage, and rethinking how food systems can serve both people and planet.

We’re looking for an entrepreneurial, adaptableHead of Operations with Business Development to take charge of the UK business. You’ll oversee day-to-day operations, supervise marketing activities, and help drive commercial growth across the UK and EU. This is a hands-on, multi-functional role with a clear path to becoming UK Managing Director within 12–18 months.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing logistics, fulfilment, inventory, and customer service.
  • Supervising a UK Marketing Manager and ensuring marketing aligns with business goals.
  • Driving new business opportunities across retail, wholesale, and foodservice in the UK and EU.
  • Coordinating a small UK team, improving processes, and reporting on performance.

We’re not looking for someone who wants a corporate comfort zone — this role suits a self-starter with an entrepreneurial streak who thrives in a fast-moving environment. You should bring:

  • FMCG experience in operations and/or commercial development (4–8 years).
  • A hands-on, solutions-focused approach with the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
  • Cross-cultural awareness and the ability to work with teams across the UK, Africa, and EU.
  • Strong communication skills and commercial awareness.
  • Familiarity with digital tools (Shopify, Amazon Seller Central, Klaviyo, Google Ads, Meta).
