What will you be doing?
InHouse Records is an award winning, creative music label with a difference we operate inside UK prisons, post release and within the community to support individuals who are not in education, employment or training. Through our accredited curriculum, we deliver impactful workshops in Music Production, Engineering, Business and Songwriting, helping participants gain skills, confidence and a sense of purpose. As we expand our reach and deepen our impact, we urgently need volunteer bid writers to help us access vital funding to help us continue our rehabilitative mission. Your expertise could unlock the support we need to continue changing lives through creativity, education and rehabilitation.
What are we looking for?
Must be skilled in crafting persuasive, tailored proposals that align with funder priorities. They should have a solid understanding of internal operations, strong budgeting and outcome reporting abilities, and be confident in collaborating across departments. Key strengths include excellent written communication, knowledge of compliance and funding criteria, and strong project management to handle multiple deadlines. Adaptability and a focus on measurable impact are essential for success.
What difference will you make?
A bid writer would have a significant and positive impact on our organisation in a number of ways. Especially given our unique position as a record label operating inside and outside the UK prison system with a strong social mission. Increased Access to Funding: InHouse Records could secure more consistent and larger funding streams, enabling it to expand programs, increase staffing, or invest in better equipment and training for participants. Program Expansion and Sustainability: InHouse Records could scale its initiatives (e.g. creating more music studios inside prisons, or launching programs in new facilities), and build long term sustainability rather than relying on short term or ad-hoc funding. Focus on Mission, Not Admin: This frees up the core InHouse team (musicians, educators, coordinators) to focus on delivery, innovation, and building relationships with inmates and ex-offenders, enhancing impact on participants’ rehabilitation. Improved Articulation of Social Impact: Helps InHouse better demonstrate and document the transformative effects of music on rehabilitation, reducing reoffending, and community reintegration, which can also boost its public reputation and influence. New Strategic Partnerships: Could lead to collaborations with other charities, universities, or local authorities, helping InHouse innovate, gain credibility, and widen its reach. Visibility & Influence: Stronger case for impact leads to more recognition and support Partnerships & Growth Opens doors to collaborative and multi-stream projects
