Job Description – Community Assistant

Reports to:Engagement Manager

Location:                            London, (hybrid working, other flexible working options).

The B Corp Movement

The B Corp community is a global group of businesses who provide leadership by their commitments to manage their impact on people and planet. There are now over 4,000 B Corps in over 65 countries, including the well-known Patagonia, The Body Shop, Kickstarter, innocent, Pukka Herbs, Divine Chocolate, the Guardian and Ella’s Kitchen.

B Lab

The role:

We are searching for an inspired, motivated person looking to change the world. Working with the growing community of UK B Corps, the role will provide key support to our Community Team. The role will also include campaign support, data collection & reporting and online community engagement along with ad-hoc administrative tasks.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Email support

●       Managing the community inbox

●       Responding to frequently asked questions through the community inbox

●       Allocating emails to relevant people

Community Team support

●       Supporting the administrative tasks of Working Groups working with both Impact and Engagement Managers

●       Supporting the administrative tasks for B Locals working with the Head of Community

●       Supporting the Ambassadors programme with the Head of Community

Engagement support

●       Managing data in salesforce and existing community databases

●       Responsible for data entry in the engagement tracker

●       Supporting with invoicing and tracking where appropriate

●       Sending welcome boxes to newly certified B Corps

●       Updating websites with community information (WeAreBCorps.uk)

●       Sharing B Lab generated content on the B Hive and supporting engagement activities and events such as B Socials, B Corp Month and Best For The World

Content creation and content capture

●       Occasionally writing content and follow up from events and webinars

●       Help to capture content from the community and ideating ways to share it (i.e the B Hive)

Skills and Experience  

Essential

●       Experience in administration or similar role, covering

  • Customer service- including customer facing communication both face to face and via email
  • Inbox management
  • Using CRM systems and other data management tools

●       Great attention to detail and accuracy

●       Good problem-solving skills

●       Good spreadsheet and systems skills

●       Excellent organisational skills, proactive and use initiative to create improvements

●       Gathering and analysing information and data, producing reports recommending solutions

Desirable

●       Developing or improving administration processes and systems

●       Experience of project management tools, e.g. Asana

●       Experience of supporting business focussed communities through events or other activities.

Person Specification

●       Passionate about the role that business can play in creating the future that benefits all people and the planet.

●       Confidence, professionalism and perseverance.

●       Strong verbal and written communication skills. Able to demonstrate a professional manner in writing or remotely, and face to face

●       Ability to maintain confidentiality and deal with commercially sensitive information

●       Self-motivated, proactive and structured worker, happy to work independently as well as collaborate with other teams.

●       Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic start-up environment.

●       Committed to justice, equity, diversity and inclusion

●       A strong work ethic - keeping to deadlines with the ability to prioritise – a finisher of tasks

●       Eligible to work in the UK (we will not be able to provide visa sponsorship)

Salary & Benefits:

●       £28,000 per annum

●       28 days holiday plus bank holidays, including office closure over Christmas
