Then our flagship charitable health and wellbeing centre in Hackney, East London, could be just the place for you.

As Core Clapton’s General Manager, you will be responsible for the smooth running of the centre and be a critical member of the senior management team striving to progress the charity.

We are looking for a highly organised and self-motivated person to manage our centre and event space in East London effectively and efficiently as well as drive the charity forward.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the centre, overseeing the clinical and wellness services, and working closely with the Events and Sales Manager, to ensure the financial viability of the charity.

This is not a 9-to-5 role and will require occasional evening and weekend shifts as appropriate, but we strive to offer a flexible approach to shifts, whenever practically possible.

Starting salary is £32,000-£36,000 depending on experience with the potential for increase with time and targets.

Principal Duties/Tasks and responsibilities 

General:

  • Planning, coordinating and managing all operational procedures/systems and implementing best practices that guarantee organisational well-being and to maximise utilisation of the centre and its services
  • Working with the Events and Sales Manager to help create a unique venue hire experience in line with Core Clapton’s brand

Clinical:

  • Managing the general administration of the clinic (osteopathy) to ensure that it runs effectively and is supportive of the patient and osteopath experience. 
  • Analysing and reporting on resource utilisation, patient levels and demographics in line with the strategic direction of the charity

Wellness:

  • Overseeing the day-to-day management of the wellness service (classes and therapies) to increase class participant numbers therapy clients
  • Undertake market research and internal feedback to help build the centre’s presence within the local community

Facilities:

  • Responsible for the day-to-day running of the building to ensure a high level of cleanliness and hygiene
  • Understanding and ensuring compliance to health, safety, security and environment policies and regulations at all times and standard operating procedures are maintained and utilised
  • Overseeing building maintenance which comprises all preventive, remedial and upgrade works required for the upkeep and improvement of buildings and their components

HR & Finance:

  • Onboarding and training of staff and volunteers and providing friendly and professional first line support to all colleagues
  • Managing the centre budget
  • Maintaining the HR system and working with the CEO to ensure staff wellbeing

Marketing & Outreach:

  • Overseeing the planning, preparation and delivery of all physical advertising and marketing such as billboards, leaflet drops, internal posters etc.
  • Organising staff to carry out market research, leaflet drops, and community events attendance necessary to increase visibility of the centre

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Previous management role within healthcare or hospitality
  • Excellent organisation and administration skills with good attention to detail
  • Excellent communication, motivation and leadership skills
  • Confidence and ability to work with and communicate effectively with people from a wide range of backgrounds.
  • Ability to prioritise and plan workload efficiently
  • Thorough and meticulous approach to tasks
  • Experience with Health and Safety compliance

Desirable:

  • Marketing and outreach experience
  • Experience of financial and commercial reporting
  • Commitment to supporting the local community to improve health and well-being
