We are looking for a diligent, enthusiastic person to fill this role to help us deliver mapping and gazetteer services in support of the organisation in all operational and policy areas.
Ideally you will be data-minded having an appreciation of the importance of high-quality and accurate data. You will be competent with Excel and similar tools also preferably, mapping tools (GIS). Additionally, documentation of processes is also important, so we are seeking someone with well-developed writing skills.
You will be passionate about great customer service, helping people both within and outside the Council.
You will be enthusiastic and not afraid to “try things out” and learn new tasks but also not afraid to ask for help.
It would be desirable that you have experience of street naming and numbering (SNN) or maintaining a Street Gazetteer but it’s not essential.
Experience of mentoring or training would be advantageous.
Full training will be given in all aspects.
Key tasks include:
Providing a public-facing contact for the SNN service
Maintaining our “Health Checks” to deadlines
Developing clear documentation for all processes and protocols
Maintaining the Local Land & Property Gazetteer (LLPG)
Supporting the Senior GIS Officer in providing the organisation and with mapping and gazetteer services
This post will require some lone working and travel throughout the borough so access to your own transport would be preferable.
