We’re looking for an experienced, well-rounded head of engineering who has experience in building enterprise software, to further improve Inkpact’s technology estate. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a passionate team and have a big impact on the entire organisation and the experience of Inkpact’s users.
You will join the Tech Team, which focuses on defining, developing, and iterating Inkpact’s product offering for our clients, scribes and administrative team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the engineering team, building out enterprise grade software. Developing and implementing back-end web services, web admin components using latest Laravel framework and restful micro services. You will also be responsible for improving back-end performance, security and compliance as well documenting our back-end codebase.
Responsibilities:
- Guiding the dev team through shipping new features
- Improving time spent on maintenance
- Solidifying the existing architecture
- Working alongside stakeholders to understand our business and customer needs and translate these into backlog items for development
- Taking an idea from conception all the way through to production
Requirements:
- Experience supporting engineers on multiple teams in an agile environment
- Experience in leading teams during innovation alongside a more established product, where experimentation and use of metrics to drive decision making is the key to a successful journey
- Excellent communication and senior stakeholder management skills
- Previous leadership in hiring, goal setting and performance management of engineers
- Strong knowledge of PHP, including frameworks such as Laravel
- A thorough understanding of web technology using HTML, CSS and JavaScript
- Previous experience of designing and developing APIs and microservices
- Knowledge of code quality controls and security
- Integration experience via RESTful API's and fundamental understanding of good API design
- Experience working with relational databases, ideally MySQL
- Adaptability and flexibility to learn new technologies and approaches
- Extremely organised with an intense attention to detail
Desirable:
- Experience scaling dev teams in a startup
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines
- Willingness to learn new technologies
- Experience of working under agile project/delivery methodologies and tools such as Jira, GitHub
- Good knowledge of DevOps and cloud platforms, ideally MS Azure
- Experience with IOS / SOC2 Compliance certification process
