About the opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Awards Officer to deliver our successful Food for Life Awards schemes for schools and early years settings. Putting good food in the hearts, hands and bellies of children every day has been driving us at Food for Life for more than 15 years, and we’re proud to have our schemes cited as go to solutions in the National Food Strategy. Every day our schools and nurseries improve the food on the plate, make lunchtimes an adventure and put cooking and growing on the classroom table. All so that children love the food on their plates and the people, plants and creatures who helped put it there. This role will deliver the awards and customer service processes for Food for Life Schools and Early Years schemes, upholding exceptional customer service and the integrity of the schemes internally and externally. This role is responsible for line managing an Awards Officer, guiding settings through the enrolment, awarding and renewal process and managing specific scheme related projects.
You take pride in delivering exceptional customer service. You have worked in, or with, schools or early years settings in some capacity so you understand some of the pressures and the challenges they face. You are self-motivated, working autonomously around deadlines and targets. You will be driven to continually improve. You will bring excellent project management experience to meet project specific KPIs, as well as those for the overall scheme. You have a range of communications experience and feel comfortable working with people, building relationships, and able to convey information in a clear and engaging way. You will need to be a highly competent IT user. Particularly around databases / recording information and you’re able to manipulate data to find your answer. You’re happy to find your way around a new system and unfazed by an imperfect IT solution. Finally, you need to truly believe in the ethos, aims and objectives of the Soil Association and its Food for Life Programmes.
