An exciting and rare opportunity to join a rapidly growing SaaS startup creating systemic change in the world. Provenance is enabling transparency on the social and environmental impact of consumer products, and we’re looking for an Impact Analyst to support the development and implementation of the Provenance Framework as part of our mission to combat greenwash and become the recognised standard for communicating impact.

We are scaling the business from hundreds of brand and retail customers - to thousands! This means Provenance will be served up to millions of shoppers who want to shop in line with their values. Working alongside the Transparency and Impact Manager to research and develop the framework, you will be helping drive value for both brands and shoppers. As part of the Integrity team you will be the voice for integrity in both external and internal meetings. You’ll also be responsible for managing customer data in the Provenance Platform and will work closely with our Customer Implementation team to support successful onboarding and ongoing success.

What you'll be doing

  • Supporting the development of the Provenance Framework ensuring it meets and exceeds industry standards. This includes:
    • In depth research and stakeholder interviews to explore specific industry issues, legislation and existing best practice
    • The maintenance of Proof Points (sustainability claims). This includes updating certification descriptions and developing claim criteria based on industry research.
    • Supporting the creation of marketing materials for the Framework such as blog posts and website content.
    • Support the preparation of meetings with Provenance’s external stakeholders including the Integrity Council, expert advisors and our customers.
  • Supporting the onboarding of brands on the Framework, including:
    • Owning the setup, maintenance and configuration of customer data (product and supply chain) on our software Platform
    • Scoping Proof Points and liaising with potential third party verifiers (e.g. certification bodies)
    • Working with brands on evidence and copy for Proof Points
    • Owning the certification and claim renewal process
    • Ensuring accuracy of data flow and processes within the Platform and supporting the creation of scalable processes to onboard brands onto the Framework with the Product & Engineering team

Requirements

What you will need

  • Passion for sustainability, social impact issues and “tech for good” and a desire to have a purposeful day job doing good for people and the planet
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience (preferably with 1+ year in a sustainability focused role)
  • You have a track record in project delivery
  • You have a good understanding of sustainability issues and are confident discussing these with a variety of stakeholders (from brand marketing, sustainability and supply chain specialists to shoppers) and are empathetic to the challenges for businesses but assertive in driving awareness of greenwashing.
  • You are organised, love working with data and your attention to detail is excellent
  • You are passionate about excellence and quality of work and leaving no stone unturned!
  • You have excellent research skills and the ability to condense and summarise findings
  • You have good writing skills (experience writing public facing articles or reports is a plus)
  • You are an adaptable self-starter who thrives in new situations and enjoys the pace of a dynamic start-up environment
  • An understanding of supply chains and/or experience in the beauty industry is a plus
