The profile of sustainable investment has grown significantly, and Worthstone is set to capture this opportunity with the range of product offerings we have available. We are now looking to recruit a Communications and Events Coordinator, who can help Worthstone meet the challenge of this exciting growth phase.

The role 

(Part time, 20 hrs pw; can be spread across 5 days or 3 full days. Hybrid, at least one office day.)

The Communications and Events Coordinator will be responsible for creating regular, engaging content for Worthstone's external channels including our website, social media, newsletters, blogs and trade press. They will also work with the CEO to shape and deliver our communications strategy.

Additionally, the Communications and Events Coordinator will be the key organiser of our established, annual flagship event, the Impact Investment Academy (IIA) conference. This year will be our 12th event, and we are currently in the planning stages for November 2022, to be held in London, hosting about 200 delegates. The successful candidate will have regular contact with the CEO and team, and would then liaise with the event production partners to ensure the smooth running of the event.

We would expect the responsibilities and scope of this role to grow over time, as the successful candidate developed a deeper understanding of the impact investment industry and Worthstone's mission.

Candidate Profile

Strong candidates will bring proven experience in communications and events, be proficient with digital content and social media, and demonstrate exceptional communication skills. 

Ideally, candidates will have an interest in impact investment, the desire to work in a purpose-driven business and a pro-active, “can do” attitude — essential to flourish in our small team!

Responsibilities

Communications

  • Maintaining and updating existing communication activities, including Worthstone’s website and social media platforms (Twitter/LinkedIn)
  • Creating engaging communications materials including monthly newsletters for Worthstone’s subscriber network
  • Timetabling, creating and publishing content-led blog and social media posts
  • Coordinating and monitoring regular contact and feedback, including feedback surveys, with our subscriber network
  • Supporting communications requirements for any other associated Worthstone activities, such as Impact Investment Portal, and WELLTH, our discretionary investment proposition
  • Campaign development and delivery
  • Media relations with impact investment and finance trade press
  • Digital content and SEO
  • Stakeholder engagement
  • Internal communications

Events

  • Responsibility for the planning, organisation, and co-ordination of the annual flagship Impact Investment Academy (IIA) conference (> 250 delegates, in person/ virtual/ hybrid), including post-event surveys and analysis
  • Ensuring the IIA is achieved professionally, on time, within budget and to expectations
  • Liaising with external event contractors, such as venue and catering organisers
  • Drafting and overseeing design of all event-related materials in conjunction with Worthstone’s designer
  • Organising and implementing associated marketing material
  • Supporting the CEO with any other associated Worthstone events

Experience

  • At least 5 years’ experience in communications and event management
  • Experience of producing effective communications in different media and with a range of audiences 
  • Previous creation and publishing of blog and/or marketing content 
  • Previous experience and success managing large-scale conference-style events 
  • Experience of working in financial services or a related sector would be an advantage but not essential

Knowledge and Skills

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills 
  • Highly proficient in MS Office
  • Experience of WordPress, MailChimp, SurveyMonkey, Eventbrite, Adobe Creative Suite / Canva
  • Proficient with all social media channels (e.g. Twitter/LinkedIn) and scheduling software
  • Excellent organisation and project management skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines 
  • Excellent attention to detail 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with a wide range of participants 
  • Have the right to work in the UK
