Chief Operations Officer (COO)

LawWorks is on a mission to expand access to justice by harnessing the skills of volunteer lawyers and connecting them with people & not for profits in need of legal advice.

The COO role is a new role and they will become a key member of the LawWorks senior management team, working with the Chief Executive to drive forward our mission of opening up access to justice.

The overarching purpose of the COO position will be to ensure all aspects of daily operations of LawWorks run effectively and efficiently, and to support the CEO in developing LawWorks in order for it to achieve its vision and objectives.

The postholder will facilitate organisational effectiveness by overseeing and managing operating capabilities, taking particular responsibility for the financial and infrastructure functions of LawWorks.

The focus of the role is generally internal, but there will also be opportunities to represent LawWorks externally. At LawWorks, we want to share our learning about what works (and doesn’t!) across the pro bono sector, and this role will offer opportunities to build your profile as a leader in the access to justice sector.

This role is an integral one for the organisation and the incumbent will contribute as a key manager in the growth and success of LawWorks whilst maintaining a strong governance framework within which the organisation can thrive. The role requires an effective manager, with accounting and financial experience, able to lead across both operational and strategic spheres.
