THE ROLE OF HEAD OF TECHNICAL PROGRAMS AT MULTIVERSE, US
The Head of Technical Programs will lead our software engineering and data programs, directly managing the Program Leads who each work with 10-15 Apprentice Coaches and working closely with the respective learning product managers, learning designers, and technical leads for each program. They will be accountable for program outcomes, spanning apprentice, apprentice manager, coach and client NPS, apprentice retention on program, and program margins.
In this role you will:
- Manage Program Leads and advise them as they support a diverse group of apprentice coaches, a team that will grow to ~100 coaches over the next 2 years.
- Develop, oversee, and achieve team OKRs across metrics like NPS, apprentice retention, program margins, and program growth
- Coach Program Leads on complex people issues, including serving as the final point of escalation for coaches, clients, and apprentices.
- Partner with Program Leads as they developed data-based academic interventions and implementation processes.
- Promote a sense of community among coaches within our technical programs that fosters intellectual curiosity, kindness, and our mission.
Requirements
This experienced organizational leader will report to the Director of Delivery and partner with functional leads across both the US and UK teams, to help a rapidly scaling team deliver excellent results. If you love leading star teams and truly care about disrupting higher education through work-based learning, this is the role for you.
- You are a proven people manager with proven experience in managing rapidly expanding people educational organizations and providing organizational structure leadership. People leadership is a critical part of this role, and you will exemplify manager best practices throughout the organization and the coaching team. You are also confident leading through influence, collaborating with teams across the business to make our vision a reality.
- You have technical experience and/or in-depth knowledge/commercial experience in education and/or technology.
- You are an expert problem solver and enjoy finding solutions to complex challenges at a fast pace. You delegate and prioritize decisively and thoughtfully.
- You have a data-driven approach and are comfortable using data to drive decision-making and hold people accountable for results.
- You are a proactive, effective communicator and are excited about working in a diverse, distributed team. Strong communication skills are essential in this role as the coaches are at different stages of their journeys and working directly with our apprentices. You are someone who does not shy away from tough conversations and sees them as learning opportunities.
- You have high internal expectations for what is possible and the ability to bring others along on that journey
- You are adaptable and patient, able to manage many priorities at once, and resolve concerns with empathy and compassion
