Background Information about the Intermediary Cooperative
An HMCTS Appointed Intermediary is a specialist in communication who assists people with communication needs to ensure effective participation in their journey through the justice system.
The intermediary role is to assist children and vulnerable adults to give their evidence and to understand court proceedings, when they come face to face with the complexities of our courts and tribunals.
The Intermediary Cooperative is a social enterprise company providing these Intermediary Services. We are a start-up, independent, member-led cooperative.
As a Not-For-Profit organisation, we invest in the Intermediary Cooperative, its systems, and its people. We are also committed to donating a proportion of our surplus to a charity which is in line with the work we do.
TIC is a new start up. TIC has been successfully trading for a year and has been awarded a contract with the Ministry of Justice to supply intermediary services to courts and tribunals mainly in England, Wales . This is an exciting time for us as we seek to develop and grow in line with our core values, ensuring we are a valuable resource to justice professionals and vulnerable people, and that we provide a safe, collaborative environment for the intermediary workforce.
We now need an Operations Manager who can shape, drive and respond to the evolving needs of the organisation and who can liaise and represent our members as a contracts manager with the various stakeholders in the Justice system.
The successful Operations Manager candidate will need to have excellent communications skills, and be able to prioritise their workload, be self-motivated and be flexible in their working hours.
