Work at the heart of the fight against dirty money in the UK.

This role will shape a high level conference that has national impact on closing illicit finance (or ‘dirty money’) out of the UK, to be held at Wilton Park in March 2023.

Bring together the key actors and analysis, and help drive a long term agenda. The role offers unique insights, influence and access. It would be ideal for people building their career in this field.

We can take a flexible approach to making the role work for the right candidate. We would welcome secondments from appropriate organisations or applications from freelance consultants.

Also potential for the role to be expanded into a two year+ appointment at a more senior level, with flexibility about terms & conditions. We are open to exploring options. Please talk to us!

Job purpose

Work with Wilton Park and the Advisory Group to deliver a high level conference that has national impact on closing illicit finance out of the UK.

Terms

  • Fixed term contract, early October 2022 – 30th April 2023. Could be extended into more senior two year+ full time role.
  • 60 – 100% of full time (i.e. average of 3 – 5 days / week), negotiable.
  • Flexible working pattern, to be agreed with post holder.
  • Location: working from home, able to attend meetings in London.
  • Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 annual salary, pro rata.
  • Other benefits: pension contribution, supportive and flexible working environment.
  • Secondment arrangements would be welcome.

Key responsibilities

Coordinate the process of developing the agenda, background analysis and conference programme

-      Work closely with key stakeholders and Wilton Park on the agenda, background analysis and conference sessions.

-      Ensure the conference agenda reflects the priorities of key stakeholders and focuses on the most significant analysis and practical ways forward.

-      Ensure a small number of high quality background papers present the key issues in a powerful, realistic and action-oriented way and help build shared commitment across stakeholder groups.

-      Help understand and navigate any different expectations held by different stakeholders and find constructive common ground where necessary.

-      Contribute to shaping sessions to achieve practical progress and build common cause.

Support the Advisory Group and other consultative groups

-      Work closely with the Advisory Group on all key aspects of the conference, raising issues with them and acting on their guidance.

-      Organise and support Advisory Group meetings, preparing and circulating appropriate papers in advance and following up actions.

-      Support any other thematic working groups or advisory groups that may be necessary.

Identify and secure relevant participants and speakers

-      Map and identify potential participants from all key sectors and help secure their involvement.

-      Identify highly relevant speakers for conference sessions and help secure their involvement.

-      Support Wilton Park to prepare pre-conference materials and brief speakers.

Support the delivery and follow up of the conference

-      Liaise with Wilton Park on the practical aspects of delivering the conference.

-      Support delivery during the conference however may be necessary.

-      Work with the Planning Group to write up a short, authoritative and action-oriented report from the conference.

-      Send follow up communications to all participants and speakers.

-      Integrate the conference into the Joffe Trust’s on-going work and plans.
