A fantastic opportunity has arisen within the Finance team for a talented and experienced Management Accountant.


Job Purpose and Background in summary

As the Management Accountant, you will play a major role in supporting with the production of CDP's Global’ financial reporting. This includes:

  • Assisting the financial controller with the production of high-quality information on a timely basis for CDP Global management figures – including monthly income and expenditure reports for CDP Global systems and CDP Worldwide Group (statutory group figures) and regular reforecasting reports.
  • Processing and managing CDP WW Group deferred income, income accruals, expense accruals, expense prepayments, and provisions, including reconciliation of other debtor and creditor balance sheet accounts.
  • Liaising with the grant finance team to ensure grant income and expenditure is recorded correctly in the finance system.
  • Preparation of ad hoc financial analysis for the CFO, ELT, SMT, and other members of project management teams on request.

  • Responsible for liaising with CDP overseas entities regarding all intercompany transactions.
  • Reviewing and processing global payroll transaction postings and liaising with the grants team to ensure staff cost grant allocations are posted correctly.
  • Assisting the financial controller with maintaining the finance system (SAP), including managing the monthly closing process, reviewing all accounting reconciliations and analysis of related accounts.
  • Liaising closely with budget holders/project managers on the financial treatment of income and expenditure.

The precise description and nature of the role may be varied from time to time and other duties as necessary may be required to be carried out.

Who you are?

You will have the following skills and experience:


  • Working experience within a similar role (charity preferred)
  • Excellent communication skills and experience of working with non-finance staff on finance matters
  • Good general level of education. (Professional qualification preferred, qualified or part-qualified)
  • Ability to prioritise work to meet deadlines
  • Strong IT skills, particularly MS office applications including word and excel.
  • Experience of using SAP and associated software packages preferred
  • Energetic, committed, and a strong team player who can work in a fast-paced           environment and meet deadlines. 
  • Problem solver and ability to bring data sets together.

This is a full-time, fixed term role based at CDP’s London office and/or remotely reporting to the Financial Controller. The contract duration will be for a period of up to 12 months.

Salary and benefits:  £38,000- £42,000 annum, 30 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, generous non-contributory pension provision, Employee Assistance Programme, life assurance, training and development, flexible working opportunities and other benefits.
