SLEDDOG GUIDES TO A HUSKY KENNEL LUOSTO
We are hiring Sleddog guides to a husky kennel in Luosto for the season 2022 – 2023!
Our kennel is a middle-sized husky kennel so there is for sure sound and hustle during the winter season. Our kennel is a home to a pack of approx 200 dogs who will be your daily workmates as well as your 15 human colleagues. Our guests arrive mainly around Europe, in December most of them come from Britain.
We are looking for active, brisk and customer service orientated Sleddog guides to kennel and guide work. If you are cheerful, flexible, multitalented and physical work is very familiar to you, this work could be for you. Furthermore if you enjoy and get along well with customers and dogs, speak fluent English and like to work outside no matter what the weather is, then you for sure are the person we are looking for!
Your tasks are the wellfare of the dogs, daily work tasks at the kennel and guiding the safaris.
Kennel work consists of wellfare of the dogs, feeding and giving meaty drink in the mornings before the first safaris, socializing the puppies and daily cleaning.
Guiding work means preparation of the programs and also the tasks after every safari, client service at the kennel and in the terrain during the safari. At this work you need a good ability to handle pressure, hectiness and changing situations, flexibility toward work hours and good physical condition. Your first aid skills, hygiene passport and at least B-class driving lisence should be valid.
Our safaris are led by a snowmobile and our customers drive their sleds themselves. If you have experience driving a snowmobile or similar vehicle, it is as advantage at this work. Also earlier experience of guide work, working outside in winter conditions, area knowlegde and working with sleddogs are also as advantage.

The employment relationship is a fixed-term seasonal contract by the collective agreement of Adventure Services Sector. Work will start as agreed or in the end of November 2022 and last until the end of winter season in April 2023. We help our employees to find an accommodation. Own car is necessary to transfer between accommodation and work.
