Your role in our team:
The Director, Portfolio Strategy and Financial Analytics will support the Global Operations function in driving strategic, analytical, and operational insights to inform development of bit.bio’s therapeutic and research product portfolios and increase operational efficiencies. Additionally, the Director, Portfolio Strategy and Financial Analytics will support the Finance function with the management of the corporate finance model and financial planning activities. The role will report into the VP of Portfolio Strategy and Business Operations, with a dotted line to the VP of Finance.
The role will focus on -
- Supporting the build and refinement of the corporate decision-making framework, incorporating strategic and analytical insights to inform investment decisions
- Managing the corporate finance model, which underpins investment and fundraising activities
- Contributing to the build and refinement of program valuation models
- Conducting scenario analyses to inform trade-off decisions, prioritization across programs, and resource allocation
- Conducting benchmarking analyses to pressure-test internal assumptions and support Investor Relations effortsManaging the annual financial budget process and quarterly 12-month rolling forecast process
- Partnering with cross-functional team members and collaborating with Finance, Commercial, Corporate Development and Investor Relations
- Contributing to Board of Directors meeting preparations and follow-up, as well as key corporate / governance interactions
- Ensuring efficient business operations processes across the organization
- Modelling bit.bio’s corporate values and sustainability goals and commitments
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Contribute to the development, implementation, and management of the corporate strategic roadmap and ad hoc projects to deliver as corporate goals
- Build rigorous, standardized analytical frameworks and tools for evaluating programs and the portfolios (e.g., corporate financial model, bottom-up program DCF valuations, financial scenario analyses, other quantitative)
- Leverage these analyses to generate key insights relevant to bit.bio’s programs, portfolios, and strategy, inform prioritizations, investment allocations, trade-offs, dev plan optimization, resource utilization, etc.
- Pressure-test business case assumptions to ensure robustness, leveraging previous experience and external benchmarks, and ensure cross-portfolio consistency
- In collaboration with Commercial team, develop consolidated strategic market and competitive intelligence insights
- Strategically benchmark performance against the industry in business planning, strategy, and development execution
- Build slides that clearly communicate data, analyses, and insights
- Manage the budget process utilizing the Workday Adaptive Planning tool, and clear cross-business communication and timelines to facilitate the production of the annual financial plan
- Introduce a quarterly 12-month rolling forecast process to build on the budget information, and provide updated financial models for comparison with actual results
- In collaboration with Finance and cross-functional partners, drive financial planning exercises and analytics
- In collaboration with cross-functional partners, contribute to evaluating external partnership opportunities as they relate to our portfolios
- Participate ad hoc in Investor Relations activities
- Build and manage key Operations dashboards
- Participate ad hoc in other key Operations workstreams (e.g., business operations, board / leadership interaction support, corporate sustainability strategy)
- Keep up to date on industry trends

- Have a degree in Life Sciences or equivalent experience
- Have advanced knowledge of the Life Science industry, overall drug development process and cross-functional interfaces
- Have a high level of financial literacy and sound business judgement
- Have strong written and verbal communication skills, and ability to synthesize information and present key findings in a crisp and concise manner
- Have an aptitude to learn and think quickly
With essential experience in…
- Have demonstrable Life Science industry experience via strategic consulting, investment banking, venture capital, equity research and/or relevant corporate experience
- Experience in conducting objective market assessments, developing business cases, building revenue forecasts and DCF valuations, and conducting financial analyses
- FP&A experience, ideally in the life sciences industry
- Experience and ability to develop, benchmark, and pressure-test assumptions to ensure robustness
- Experience and ability to derive, synthesize, and clearly communicate strategic insights
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, Excel, and PowerPoint skills
- Strong project management skills, and experience in managing workstreams and influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders
