Role Summary:

  • Lead the technical and programmatic aspects of the Vega-E development project.
  • Conduct negotiations and manage procurement related to the project.
  • Interface with industry partners to implement project activities effectively.
  • Develop project plans and support integrated project reviews.
  • Identify and manage health and safety risks within the project scope.

Role Requirements:

  • Master's degree in aerospace engineering, with a focus on launch systems and technologies.
  • Experience leading and developing teams of engineers in the launchers sector.
  • Capability to provide strategic direction within the Department of Flight Programs.
  • Experience in people management and working internationally is highly beneficial.
  • Diverse functional experience relevant to ESA's activities is desirable.

The Role: As the Vega-E Project Manager, you will be responsible for the technical and programmatic implementation of the Vega-E development. This includes managing the technical and programmatic implementation of the Vega-E development, conducting negotiations related to procurement in your area of responsibility, interfacing with industry for the implementation of the project’s activities, preparing the relevant project plans and supporting the integrated project reviews. You will also be responsible for identifying, assessing, managing and reporting the health and safety risks in your area of responsibility.

Job Requirements: A master's degree in aerospace engineering is required for this post with focus on launch systems and technologies. You should have proven experience of leading, motivating and developing a team of development engineers in the launchers area, the ability to provide strategic direction to the individuals and teams within the Department of Flight Programs and to relate team objectives to the overall, evolving organisational goals and context. People management experience is an asset, as is international experience, i.e. outside your home country, as well as experience in diverse functional areas relevant to ESA activities.
