Our service is designed to provide a unique and confidential early intervention home-visiting service delivered by volunteers who offer friendship and support to families who have at least one child under 5 and are struggling with the demands of family life. We can demonstrate a measurable improvement in parents’ confidence, self-esteem and well-being leading to an improvement in their ability to cope with everyday family life. Our key aims as an organisation are to :-
build a trusting relationship with each family over time so a flexible package of support can be developed to take account of different needs
reassure parents that difficulties in bringing up children are not unusual and encourage enjoyment in family life
improve parents’ strengths and emotional well-being for the ultimate benefit of their own children
encourage families to widen their network of relationships and to use the support and services available within the community.
Facilitate a gradual disengagement leaving the family with improved coping mechanisms and life skills
