HoodEx CIC

HoodEx is a Community Interest Company that aims to empower ex-offenders and individuals at risk of offending in South Shields, UK. Our organisation provides these individuals with volunteering opportunities, group physical training sessions, and the chance to help run our vintage clothing store.   Through our services, participants receive combat sports training and gain valuable work experience, helping them build skills and confidence to enter the job market. Surplus profits from our store are used to fund PTI courses and driving courses for our volunteers. In addition, our partnership with Raleigh International offers humanitarian expedition placements abroad to volunteers who have done at least a year of volunteering with HoodEx.   Our help matters to the community because of the positive impact it has on these individuals, who face significant barriers to reintegrating into society. By providing them with opportunities to build valuable skills and experiences, we help them become contributing members of their community rather than falling back into a life of crime. In doing so, we make our community safer, more inclusive, and more resilient.
