Year one: Community website development: This will be set aa a training opportunity for two candidates. During this time there will be consultation on what a community website will include. How this is updated and further managed by the community. This will then be used as a train the trainer opportunity with ongoing support from the commissioned website designer. Recruit a team of four advocates and secure funding for specialist advocacy training: To train advocates effectively, securing funding. advocate to IMCA level. Specialist training and practice is one year. Grow activities in the community. Developing a Community Committee for Fun Day: Organizing a Fun Day to bring the community together. Identify and support the committee to focus on:
Event Planning: Set a date, choose a venue, and plan activities (games, food stalls, entertainment). Funding: Identify all costs and apply for Funding. Promotions: Spread the word through flyers, social media, and local networks. Logistics: Arrange permits, coordinate volunteers, and manage logistics during the event. Inclusivity: Involve people of different ages, backgrounds, and interests. Feedback: Gather feedback afterward to improve future events.
Promoting Community Advocacy Team: Utilising the social media project and the funday to advertise community advocacy. Monitoring and Quality Improvement. Regularly monitor advocacy services. Collecting data, seek feedback, and continuously improve. Internal processes. Quality assurance systems, testing Developing policies and procedures and testing full compliance. Year two Specialist advocates will have completed training and had one year of practice. By using the collating data of outcomes it's expected that Procurement will be achieved. A Fully Commissioned spot purchase/Advocacy Service: Empowering Change this will generate an income for further training of IMCA advocates. This will provide funding for the community advocates and projects as identified from the community committees. Identify and secure a building that can act as an open space, deliver community activates and training opportunities. Work with other established training providers to offer further opportunities for the community. Year three Fully self-sufficient due to spot purchase. Build upon the team. Support Local Changes: Community advocacy directly addresses local issues—whether it’s potholes, housing, or schools. We roll up our sleeves, forge connections, and knit the community tighter. Support and Knowledge Sharing: Work in other diverse, deprived communities. We share knowledge, lift spirits, and reengage those left behind. Comprehensive support isn’t just a safety net; it’s a launchpad. It propels individuals toward meaningful opportunities—employment, training, and social inclusion.
