About the Programme
Ambios’ Summer of Nature Recovery is an invitation to live and learn alongside a community of like-minded people at our nature recovery centre, working towards a common goal.
Join a charismatic and unique series of nature recovery experiences, delivered by expert practitioners working in the fields of ecology and biodiversity management, community engagement, food, art, and community work.
Nature recovery includes brave and ambitious intentions and actions to bring nature back to degraded landscapes and ecosystems across the British Isles and abroad. The UK is the most nature-depleted country in Europe. The nature recovery movement aims to find creative and lasting ways of changing the narrative to help nature recover!
The movement needs your help to find ways to restore nature, as an active and informed citizen, a passionate volunteer, or a nature professional. Build your confidence, ignite your interest, and realise your hidden skills. Learn how to help restore natural processes, appreciate your place in nature and understand how you can play a positive role in creating more space for nature to thrive.
These experiences will give you a rich insight into different elements of nature recovery including threads of traditional nature conservation and rewilding, with a focus on what is happening in the river Dart Valley, South Devon. You will receive support, signposting, and advice to help your onward journey into nature recovery and build your confidence in nature.
What to Expect:
Each experience will have a rich blend of contributions from different guest experts, talks from people applying their lives to help nature recover, trips to inspirational sites in the local area and practical nature tasks giving you a chance to apply your learning. Ambios team members will help you to connect your various experiences and offer context. You will experience everyday life on a working farm, getting involved with farm tasks and shared community life.
